The Power of Positive Thinking

Two books which have greatly influenced me during my life are:-

The Power of Positive Thinking by Norman Vincent Peale

and

How to Stop Worrying and Start Living by Dale Carnegie

Those two books have made a huge BIG difference to my life!

It is very easy to be full of smiles and joy when things are going right;
it is not so easy to keep the same smile on your face when things are going wrong.

There have been remarkably few occasions in my 66 years of earthly life  when I have been depressed,
in whatever situation I may happen to find myself.

One of favourite upbeat mantras is this one:-

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing down a bit,
Rest if you must, BUT DON’T YOU QUIT!

Success is failure turned inside out –
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So, stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit –
It’s when things seem worst that
YOU MUST NOT QUIT!

Whenever the going gets tough, visualise the tough getting going……………….

There is never any failure but in ceasing to try: whenever life seems to have dealt you a losing hand,
put any thoughts of ill fortune or failure firmly to one side – and surround yourself with only positive thoughts and positive energies – visualise success and success will be yours.

Here is a profound message translated from Sanskrit:-

Yesterday is but a dream
And tomorrow only a vision,
But today well lived makes
Every yesterday a dream of happiness
And every tomorrow a vision of hope.

What is your vision of hope for tomorrow?

Yours positively

Geoffrey
