Have You No Enemies?

If you and I boast that we have no enemies – none at all – we may be failing to do the right thing on many occasions.

I am reminded of the verses by Charles MacKay which run thus:-

“You have no enemies, you say?
Alas, my friend, the boast is poor.
Of duty that the brave endure,
Must have made foes.
If you have none,
Small is the work that you have done Fenwick;
You’ve hit no traitor on the hip;
You’ve never turned the wrong to right,
You’ve been a coward in the fight:
If you no enemies have made.

With many peaceful blessings
