With The Rising Sun

Dear Lord,

Early in the morning we stand and watch the sun rise.

We greet it with joy and song and prayer, But the sun always rises

Yet today, Your Son has risen.

We remember His last meal with His friends His betrayal

Those that denied and scattered.

We remember a mock trial, A paid-off court room

And an undeserved death sentence.

But today, He has risen.

We remember the pain of the cross, The agony of death,

The moment of separation from You that Christ suffered.

And we remember that He endured it all, for us.

But today, He has risen.

Today Jesus walks among the living, Today grave clothes are no longer needed, Today new life has sprung,

Today He has risen,

And hope has risen with Him. So let us put our trust in Him For once he was dead

And now He is risen.
