Thought for the Day

Sir John Lubbock was a banker, philanthropist, politician and botanist.

“Punch” magazine once published a cartoon of him as being a “busy bee”.

Tiring as his daily work must have been, he knew that there were many worse things that his soul could have experienced.

“A day of worry,” he wrote, “is more exhausting than a day of work”.

So, let us follow the good advice of Sir John Lubbock.

Whenever you find yourself surrounded by worries and stress, start working even harder for someone else’s benefit – as well as your own.

With many peaceful blessings
