It seems to me that there is really nothing new under the sun. Quite recently I came across the following in a book I was reading:-
“The children now love luxury; they show disrespect for their elders and love to chatter in place of exercise. Children are tyrants, not the servants of their households.
They no longer rise when their elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs and tyrannise their teachers.”
Was it written by a despairing mother or grandmother of today, or perhaps the head teacher of an inner city secondary school?
No, it was actually written by the philosopher Socrates in 399BC!
Food for thought, indeed!
With many peaceful blessings
