Merry Christmas

by M.S.Lowndes

Jesus Christ was born this day
So many years before
He came a servant to the lost
Though he was Lord of Lords

We celebrate this joyous time
Reflecting on His birth
Not born in a mansion, but a stable
As if He had no worth

He came so He could identify
With the human heart of man
And gave His life as a sacrifice
Offering a better plan

A plan that reconciles us back
To our loving Father God
Bringing hope and redemption from
Sins ruling iron rod

For this is the only reason that we
Should celebrate this day
To become focused on anything else
Would take the meaning away

So let’s arise with joy in our hearts
And share it with everyone
The meaning of Christmas will always be
The birth of Jesus – God’s son

HAPPY CHRISTMAS, dear friends all

Please remember the true meaning of Christmas whilst enjoying yourselves and spare a thought for those people who are spending Christmas alone, people who are homeless, people who have no money and no joy in their heart.

Let us send our blessings to everyone who needs our prayers at this very special time of year

God Bless

With many peaceful blessings

When I was a child I had a kite and, as I remember it, there was never much wind to encourage my kite to fly up into the sky.

Obviously I was living in the wrong part of the country as here in South Wales – we often have an excess of high – sometimes ferocious – winds. Today, proving no exception!

It’s just the kind of day in which to stay indoors to reflect and to spend time with God.

I am reminded of the poem by Elizabeth Gozney:-

There are many folk around us
Lonely, sad – a little shy,
Those who sometimes feel forgotten
As the busy world goes by.

Let’s expand our happy circle
Show the lonely that we care,
Draw them into friendship’s keeping,
Friends are friendly, everywhere!

Christmas can be a very sad and lonely time for many people – if you know someone who is going to be by themselves during the Christmas Season, why not visit them, take them a present, and let them know that there are people ‘out there’ who are thinking of them and who care how they feel……

Christmas is a time of Giving, not just Receiving; sometimes giving of yourself is worth much more than any monetary presents!
