My Garden

I’ve got a brand new garden –
I’ve just moved house, you see,
But, oh, I found my garden
Was empty as can be.

I asked my friends and neighbours
Just what would they advise,
And when I saw their answer
I scarce believed my eyes.

For each had brought a present
A bloom to fill my plot
From bedding plants to bushes,
My friends had brought the lot.

So now my garden’s glowing,
Alight with every hue
A quilt of loving kindness
To cheer me all year through.

What a lovely thought to begin our new week!

If, when the sun is shining, you
Can walk a pleasant mile
In street or lane, or do a spot
Of gardening for a while,
Be very glad – and think sometimes
Of all the people who
Long so much, but cannot do –
The things that you can do.

Each and every day you should count your blessings, one by one,
and be mindful of the fact that there are very very many people
who are much worse off than you.

And it never does any harm to practise random acts of kindness.

Bible usage can be habit forming,

Regular reading of the Bible can cause loss of anxiety and fear and a decreased appetite for impatience and anger.

Symptoms include increased love, joy, peace, patience, happiness, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

If symptoms persist just PRAISE THE LORD

Thought For The Day

Sir Humphry Davy, the Professor of Chemistry at the Royal Institute in London, who invented the Davy Safety Lamp to protect miners from explosions of firedamp, also wrote words of wisdom, with which to lighten the lives of others.

Judge for yourself:-

“Life is made up, not of duties or great sacrifices, but of little things, in which smiles, kindness and small obligations, given habitually, are what preserve the heart and secure comfort.”

Wise words indeed!
